Keynote speakers

June 13, 10:15-11:00. Invited speaker Claus Nielsen

Title of his talk: Atmospheric chemistry of reduced nitrogen compounds

Claus Nielsen is from the Department of Chemistry at University of Oslo. His research focuses on photochemical and photolytic degradation of atmospheric trace gases, as well as other topics related to processes on the molecular level. In recent years one of the main research topics have been reduced nitrogen compounds, amines and amides, of potential use for Carbon Capture and Storage processes.

June 13, 13:30-14:15. Invited speaker Lin Du

Title of his talk: Intermolecular interactions in the atmospheric clusters

Lin Du obtained his PhD from Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2008. He was awarded 1000 Plan Program for Young Talents by China government in 2014 and is now professor at Shandong University. His research interests include spectroscopy, atmospheric chemistry, aerosol surface chemistry, and air pollution control.

June 14, 09:00-09:45. Invited speaker Penny Vlahos

Title of her talk: “Sea Spray- Climate’s best kept Secret”

Dr. Vlahos is an Associate Professor in the Department of Marine Sciences at the University of Connecticut. Her research deals with environmental thermodynamics and the biogeochemical cycling of key elements and compounds. She is currently visiting as a Fulbright Specialist at the University of Aarhus.
